Brooklyn VideoMade for the Feed

Brooklyn brands are judged by people who scroll past polished ads every day. We shoot commercials, social content and nightlife recaps that feel like they came from the neighborhood, not a conference room.

The Borough Market

A borough of founders, makers and venues

Brooklyn's business base is small, independent and visual. Direct-to-consumer brands run out of shared space at Industry City in Sunset Park and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Restaurants and bars line Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg and Smith Street in Carroll Gardens. Music venues and warehouse clubs fill East Williamsburg and Bushwick. Most of these companies sell through Instagram and TikTok before they sell anywhere else, so their marketing budget goes to content that has to compete with creators, not with other ads.

That changes how a shoot should run here. Brooklyn audiences recognize a stock look in half a second, and they reward texture: the actual kitchen line, the maker's hands, the crowd at 1 a.m. Streets like Washington Street in DUMBO are so heavily photographed that a generic angle reads as a cliché. The work is to find the version of the borough that belongs to your brand, and to cut it vertically first, with horizontal versions for the website and paid placements second.

Where We Shoot

Backdrops around Brooklyn.

  • Converted warehouse studios in Industry City
  • Cobblestone streets and waterfront piers in DUMBO
  • Restaurant kitchens and bars in Williamsburg
  • Street murals in Bushwick
  • Brooklyn Bridge Park lawns and piers
  • Brownstone blocks in Park Slope and Fort Greene

Where We Would Start

For a Brooklyn business we would usually start with a single shoot day that produces a month of posts rather than one hero spot. We plan the day around your busiest real moment (a dinner rush, a product drop, a Saturday market), capture short interviews with the founder or staff, and leave with a library of clips sized for each platform. Once we see which posts carry, we build the next shoot around them.

What We Make in Brooklyn

Concept to color, on location.

Our social media content packages are the usual fit in Brooklyn, along with commercial video production for launches and event videography for venues and parties, including our recap from Brooklyn Mirage. Brooklyn is one part of the work we do across New York City, and we cross regularly into Queens and Manhattan. See the films on our work page. For brands that sell physical products, we pair the video day with product photography so the shop, ads and feed all match.

Questions

Filming in Brooklyn.

Do we need a film permit to shoot in Brooklyn?

It depends on the footprint. New York City's Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment issues permits, and a small handheld crew that does not block the sidewalk or hold parking often does not need one. Lighting stands, parking holds or street closures do. Brooklyn Bridge Park manages its own permits. We check the plan against the rules during pre-production and file whatever is required.

Can you film during service without disrupting the restaurant or venue?

Yes, and it usually looks better that way. We work with a small crew, compact lighting and wireless audio, and we agree in advance on where the camera can and cannot be. For bars and clubs we shoot the setup before doors open and then capture the crowd with handheld cameras once the room fills, so staff never have to stop working.

How do you handle parking and gear in Brooklyn?

We travel light and plan load-in around the block. For most social and restaurant shoots our kit fits in one vehicle and goes in through a side or back entrance. If a location has no loading access, we arrive early, unload, and move the vehicle. Larger commercial shoots get a parking plan, and a permit if the city requires one.

How fast can we get social clips back after a Brooklyn shoot?

We agree on the delivery schedule before the shoot, and for social work we usually prioritize a few first cuts so you can post while the moment is still current, such as the week of a product drop or the morning after an event. The rest of the library follows on the timeline we set together. Rush turnarounds are possible when planned in advance.
