Video Production · Manhattan
Manhattanvideo production
Manhattan is where executives, brands and venues compete for attention in a few square miles. We film interviews, launches, offices and restaurants here with tight crews and a schedule built around building rules and busy calendars.
The Borough Market
Thirteen miles of headquarters, showrooms and dining rooms
Manhattan holds a remarkable concentration of business on one narrow island. Midtown and Hudson Yards house corporate headquarters, banks and law firms, and the Financial District still anchors finance and insurance. The Garment District, SoHo and the Meatpacking District carry fashion, showrooms and retail. Restaurants and bars fill every neighborhood, from the West Village to the Upper East Side, and the island hosts a steady stream of product launches, conferences and corporate events at hotels and venues like the Javits Center.
Manhattan shoots are shaped by buildings and schedules. Office towers have security desks, certificate-of-insurance requirements and freight elevator windows. Executives have twenty minutes, not two hours. Exterior work on sidewalks generally needs a permit from the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, and parking a gear van takes planning. The audience is busy and skeptical, so videos need to say something real quickly. Polished but direct interviews, real offices and recognizable street views tend to work better than staged spectacle.

Where We Would Start
For a Manhattan business, we usually start by securing the time that is hardest to get: the executive or founder interview. We set up lights and cameras before they arrive, film efficiently and use the remaining day for office b-roll, team moments and a short exterior sequence. For restaurants and brands, we film before doors open and plan rooftop or street shots for the best light. One day can yield a brand film, recruiting clips and social cutdowns for a full quarter.
What We Make in Manhattan
Concept to color, on location.
In Manhattan we focus on commercial and brand video for companies and consumer brands, event videography for launches, conferences and corporate events, and documentary-style interviews with founders and executives. You can read how we plan a tight city shoot, from building paperwork to the final cut, on our process page. For neighboring boroughs, see our pages for Brooklyn and Queens, or go to the full New York City page for permits, logistics and citywide work.
Part of
Questions
Filming in Manhattan.
Do we need a permit to film in Manhattan?
If we use equipment on sidewalks, streets or in city parks, the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment generally requires a permit and insurance. Filming entirely inside your office or a private venue typically does not, though the building may have its own rules. We sort out which applies during planning and handle the timing with you.
What does our building need from you before a shoot?
Most Manhattan buildings ask for a certificate of insurance naming the building and management company, a crew list for security, and a scheduled freight elevator window for equipment. We get those requirements from your facilities team early and provide everything in advance so the shoot starts on time.
Our CEO only has 30 minutes. Is that enough?
Yes, if we plan around it. We set up the interview space, lighting and cameras before they arrive, agree on questions in advance and keep the session focused. A well-prepared half hour can produce a strong brand film and several short clips. We then use the rest of the day for b-roll and team footage.
Can you film our restaurant or venue without closing it?
Usually. We film dining rooms and kitchens before service or during slower hours, and we capture people and atmosphere during service with a small crew that stays out of the way. We plan with your manager so staff know when they will be on camera and the guest experience is not interrupted.
