The Hamptonsand the East End

The Hamptons and the North Fork run on a short, intense summer and a quiet off-season. We plan video for East End hospitality, real estate, lifestyle brands and private events around that calendar and that famous light.

The East End splits into two forks. The South Fork holds Southampton, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Montauk, where summer residents, luxury real estate, restaurants, boutiques and private events drive the economy. The North Fork, from Riverhead through Mattituck and Southold to Greenport and Orient, is wine country, with dozens of vineyards and tasting rooms, farm stands and a working harbor. Both depend on visitors from Manhattan and western Long Island, and both look very different in January than they do in July.

The calendar is the main factor here. Most East End businesses earn a large share of the year between Memorial Day and Labor Day, so content has to be ready before the season starts, not filmed in the middle of it. That means shooting in May or early June, when the light is already strong but the beaches, roads and dining rooms are still calm. The other factor is the light itself: open skies, ocean on both sides and long golden hours that make late-day shoots worth planning around.

Where We Shoot

Backdrops around The Hamptons & East End.

  • Ocean beaches and dunes from Southampton to Montauk
  • North Fork vineyards and tasting rooms
  • Sag Harbor and Greenport waterfronts
  • Estate homes and gardens on the South Fork
  • Farm stands and open farmland along the North Fork
  • Montauk Point Lighthouse and the bluffs

Where We Would Start

For an East End business, we usually start by working backward from opening weekend. We schedule a preseason shoot for your hero video and a bank of vertical content, so you have weeks of posts ready as the season starts. For a restaurant, hotel or winery, that means filming before service with staff, then capturing exteriors at golden hour. For private events and galas, we plan coverage that respects guests and hosts, with discreet crews and clear guidelines on who appears on camera.

What We Make in The Hamptons & East End

Concept to color, on location.

Our main work on the East End is commercial video for hospitality and lifestyle brands, event films for galas and private parties, and brand and food photography for menus, websites and social, similar to the restaurant and country club dining work in our photography portfolio. If you want content ready before Memorial Day, the best time to talk is in early spring, so book a call while preseason dates are still open. You can also see our pages for Suffolk County and all of Long Island.

Questions

Filming in The Hamptons & East End.

When should we film for the summer season in the Hamptons?

Ideally in May or early June. The light is already strong, the landscape is green, and beaches, roads and restaurants are still quiet. That gives you finished content to post as the season opens. Filming in July or August is possible, but traffic, crowds and staffing make scheduling harder, so we plan those shoots for early mornings or weekdays.

Do we need permits to film on East End beaches?

Usually yes. Southampton, East Hampton, Southold and the villages within them each control their own beaches and have their own permit rules, which are often stricter in peak season. Private property needs only the owner's permission. We check with the right town or village during planning and allow time for approval.

Can you film a private event or gala discreetly?

Yes. For private parties and galas we keep the crew small, dress to fit the event and agree in advance on who should and should not appear on camera. We work with your planner on the run of show so we are in the right place for speeches and key moments without getting in guests' way.

How do you handle travel to the East End?

We plan East End shoots around the drive, especially in summer when traffic on Route 27 and the Long Island Expressway can add hours. That often means early starts or scheduling multiple East End locations together. We discuss any travel considerations when we scope the project, so it is clear before anything is booked.
